If you’re thinking about becoming a Norwex Consultant, the starter kit decision just got much simpler – but there is one choice you need to understand before you enroll.
Norwex completely changed its U.S. join kits in August 2026. The old Sample, Safe Haven 5+, and Standard Starter Kits are gone. New Consultants now choose between two options: The Norwegian Way Join Kit for $125, or The Norwegian Way Join Kit Plus, which has no initial kit cost if you choose that offer at enrollment and meet its sales requirement.
I know exactly what happens when people see the words no initial cost, so I want to explain that second option very carefully.
The Join Kit Plus is not simply a bigger free box of products. Norwex provides it with no initial kit cost (other than $9.95 shipping and handling plus applicable tax) when you choose that option. To keep the kit cost-free, you must submit $1,500 in Personal Retail Sales during your first 45 days. This can be your own purchases, orders from friends and family, or parties / events. If you do not meet the goal, Norwex says you will be billed $250 plus applicable tax on day 46.
That doesn’t make the Plus kit a bad choice. For the right person, I think it can be a very good one. I personally chose a kit similar to this when I became a consultant because I was committed to doing parties to generate the needed sales.
I don’t want you choosing a starter kit because one price sounds better than another. I want you to understand what you’re agreeing to, what you receive, and which option actually fits the way you want to begin.
That’s what we’re going to sort out here.
If you’re still deciding whether the business itself is right for you, start with my Norwex Consultant Opportunity Explained. My First Question Isn’t “Which Kit Do You Want?”
When someone talks with me about joining, I don’t want to rush her to an enrollment link. I want to know what she’s hoping this will do for her.
- Are you mainly interested in buying Norwex for your own home at Consultant savings?
- Do you want to earn some extra income?
- Are you ready to start sharing right away?
- Do you think this could become a meaningful business for you?
- Or are you somewhere in the middle and honestly don’t know yet?
All of those are reasonable places to start.
I’ve worked with Consultants who joined for very different reasons. Some wanted a product discount. Some wanted a flexible way to contribute financially while raising a family or working another job. Some simply loved the products and wanted to share them. Some eventually built teams and became leaders.
You do not need to know today where this will lead.
You do need to be honest about what you are ready to do during your first 45 days, because that is what should drive this particular starter kit decision.
Option 1: The Norwegian Way Join Kit – $125
The $125 Norwegian Way Join Kit is the straightforward option.
You pay $125 plus tax where applicable and $9.95 shipping and handling, and you receive a core collection of Norwex products along with the materials you need to begin sharing.

Who I Think the $125 Join Kit Fits Best
I like this option for someone who wants to begin without attaching the cost of her starter kit to a specific 45-day sales target.
You still have a real business opportunity. You are still eligible to earn 35% of your Personal Retail Sales. You can still participate in Bright Start Rewards, incentives, recognition and other Consultant programs. Choosing the $125 kit does not put you on a lesser track.
That’s important, because I never want someone to think she has to choose the larger kit to prove she’s serious.
You may prefer this kit if:
- You want a clear, known upfront cost.
- You are not comfortable committing yourself to $1,500 in Personal Retail Sales during your first 45 days.
- You want to learn the products and business at your own pace.
- You are joining mostly for personal savings but are open to sharing.
- You want to build a business, but you don’t want the starter kit decision itself creating pressure.
There is nothing timid about choosing the $125 kit. Sometimes the smartest way to start is the way that lets you move forward confidently instead of worrying about a deadline.
Option 2: The Norwegian Way Join Kit Plus – No Initial Kit Cost
This is the option that will get the most attention, so let’s make sure you understand it.
The Norwegian Way Join Kit Plus gives you a larger collection of products with no initial kit cost. At enrollment, you pay $9.95 shipping and handling plus applicable tax.
In return, there is a very specific condition:
You need to submit $1,500 in Personal Retail Sales within your first 45 days for the Join Kit Plus to remain cost-free.
If you do not reach that requirement, Norwex states that you will be charged $250 plus applicable tax on day 46 after enrollment.
I would never hide that in the fine print. You should know it before you choose.

Why the Plus Kit Can Be a Stronger Business Start
The advantage isn’t simply that you get more products.
You get more ways to experience the products yourself and more things you can naturally talk about with customers.
Norwex has always been a “seeing is believing” kind of business. The company’s own Norwegian Way Guide (Dawud – can you link the guide here??) describes sharing through real experiences and demonstrations – showing people what products do instead of relying on pressure.
That has always made sense to me.
When you’ve cleaned with the cloths, done your laundry with PowerZyme, tried the dishwasher powder, used the dish soap, cleaned a mattress or other soft surfaces, used the dryer balls and lived with the products in your own home, you have something much better than a sales script.
You have your own experience.
That makes conversations easier. It helps you answer questions honestly. It helps you discover which products you genuinely love. And it gives you more confidence when you’re showing someone else how Norwex can fit into everyday life.
Who I Think Should Consider the Plus Kit
I would seriously consider the Join Kit Plus if you already know that you want to start sharing and you’re prepared to work toward the $1,500 Personal Retail Sales requirement during your first 45 days.
It may be a good fit if:
- You want to begin actively rather than “see what happens.”
- You like learning by using and demonstrating products.
- You are comfortable talking with people and asking for business.
- You are willing to follow a plan during your first 45 days.
- You understand that the $250 charge applies if you don’t reach the required $1,500 in Personal Retail Sales.
What I would not do is choose it only because the enrollment screen says $0 for the kit.
Choose it because the products and the 45-day goal fit the way you intend to start.
So Which Norwex Starter Kit Would I Choose?
If I were joining today with the intention of building a business, I would take a hard look at the Join Kit Plus.
Why?
If I’m going to build, I want products in my hands. I want to use them. I want to know them. I want to have stories to share. And I would already be planning activity during those first 45 days.
But that’s me.
If you told me, “Suzanne, I love Norwex and I want to join, but I don’t know whether I can or want to do $1,500 in sales in 45 days,” I would not push you toward the Plus kit.
I would rather see you start with the $125 kit, feel good about your decision, learn, share naturally and decide what you want to build from there.
The better starter kit is not the one with the biggest box.
It’s the one that lets you start well.
Both Kits Give You the Same Earning Opportunity
This is one of the most important details in Norwex’s new program.
Your kit choice does not determine your commission rate or your eligibility for Consultant programs.
According to Norwex’s August 2026 Join Kit FAQ, New Consultants are immediately eligible to earn 35% of Personal Retail Sales regardless of which of the two join kits they select. Both kit choices are also eligible for Bright Start Rewards, Consultant incentives, recognition and rewards.
So please don’t look at the $125 kit as the “casual” opportunity and the Plus kit as the “business” opportunity.
The opportunity is the same.
The difference is how you choose to equip yourself at the beginning and, with the Plus kit, whether you’re willing to accept the 45-day sales requirement attached to keeping that kit cost-free.
What About the Optional Upgrade Packages?

Norwex also introduced two optional upgrade packages that New Consultants can purchase during enrollment. These are available with either join kit, but Norwex says they are only available during the enrollment process.
That means this is one decision worth considering before you click all the way through your signup.
Skin Care Upgrade Package
The Skin Care Upgrade Package adds full-size personal care products and demonstration options beyond the sample sachets included in the join kits.
The current skin care upgrade package contains:
- Cleansing Facial Powder
- Hydrating Moisturizer
- Hydrating Night Cream
- Body and Face Pack, graphite – set of 3
- Body and Face Scrub Mitt, eucalyptus
This package has a retail value of $282.94 and a New Consultant price of $165.52, before applicable tax and shipping.
Floor Upgrade Package
The Floor Upgrade Package gives you a broader set of tools for floor care and home demonstrations. It includes the mop, which is always a “wow” product to demo.
The floor upgrade package contains:
- Superior Mop Starter System, graphite/black
- EnviroWand® with Two-Sided Duster, regular
- Spray Mop Attachment
- Duster Mop Pad, large
- Window Cloth Mop Pad, large
This package has a retail value of $295.95 and a New Consultant price of $173.13, before applicable tax and shipping.
Do You Need an Upgrade Package?
No.
I want to be very clear about that.
You don’t need to buy everything in order to become a good Consultant. You don’t need a house full of inventory, and you don’t need to turn enrollment into a shopping spree.
An upgrade makes sense when the products support the way you plan to share.
If you already love Norwex skin care and know you want that to be part of your conversations, the Skin Care Upgrade may be useful. If floor care is something you use, love and can easily demonstrate, the Floor Upgrade may make sense.
Buy with a purpose.
More products do not build a business by themselves.
Does Buying a Join Kit Count Toward Your Personal Retail Sales?
No.
Norwex specifically states that the purchase of a join kit does not count toward your Personal Retail Sales.
That’s especially important if you choose the Join Kit Plus. The $1,500 requirement refers to Personal Retail Sales submitted during your first 45 days – not the value or purchase price of your kit.
What Is Bright Start, and Does My Kit Choice Affect It?
Both join kits are eligible for Bright Start Rewards.
Bright Start is Norwex’s program for rewarding activity early in a Consultant’s business. The important point for this starter kit decision is simple: you do not have to choose the Join Kit Plus to participate in Bright Start.
That gives you room to separate two decisions:
- Which kit is the right financial and product choice for me?
- How actively do I want to pursue my early business goals?
Those decisions can support each other, but they are not the same thing.
What About Office Suite?
New Norwex Consultants can receive Office Suite free for three months, a stated $29.97 value, if they opt in for the offer during signup. Office Suite gives you a website for customers to shop on as well as Norwex sending regular customer emails out on your behalf.
After the three-month free trial, Norwex states that Office Suite is billed at $9.95 per month plus applicable taxes.
You must opt in during enrollment to receive the free trial, so this is another item I would pay attention to while signing up rather than clicking through too quickly.
Can I Become a Norwex Consultant Just for the Product Savings?
Yes.
Norwex says Consultants are eligible for generous savings on their personal Norwex purchases, and there is nothing wrong with joining because you love the products and want that benefit.
- You don’t have to promise me that you’re going to build a team.
- You don’t have to know whether you want a business.
- You don’t have to become a different person because you enrolled.
- You can start where you are.
What I do encourage you to do is stay open. I’ve watched people join for one reason and discover another. Someone who starts for product savings may realize she enjoys helping friends find simpler solutions. Someone who wants a little extra income may discover she loves mentoring. Someone who thinks she’ll “just share a little” may surprise herself.
You don’t have to decide your whole future before you start.
If You Want a Business, Think Beyond the Box
I can help you choose a kit. But I don’t want you to confuse choosing a kit with building a business.
- A starter kit gives you tools.
- It does not create customers.
- It does not follow up with people.
- It does not teach you how to lead.
- It does not build relationships for you.
Those things happen after the box arrives.
If you join my team because you want to build, I’m much more interested in helping you create a simple plan you can actually follow than giving you a giant list of things to do.
We’ll talk about your goals. We’ll talk about who you know. We’ll talk about how you want to share. We’ll work on the next right actions instead of trying to make you look like an expert on day one.
You do not need sales experience to begin.
You need willingness to learn, willingness to talk to people, and willingness to take consistent action.
What I Would Do During My First 45 Days
If I chose the Join Kit Plus, I would treat the $1,500 requirement as a real commitment from day one – not something I’d hope to figure out around day 40.
I would:
- Use the products. I would start learning through my own home and my own experience.
- Make a list of people I can talk with. Not a list of people to pressure – a list of people I can genuinely share with.
- Start conversations quickly. I would not spend two weeks “getting ready.”
- Show, don’t just tell. Norwex is a demonstration-friendly business. Let people see products in action.
- Follow up. People are busy. A thoughtful follow-up is part of serving them well.
- Use the support available to me. I would ask questions instead of trying to invent the business by myself.
If I chose the $125 kit, I would still do many of the same things. The difference is that my kit cost would not depend on reaching $1,500 in Personal Retail Sales within that first 45-day window.
The Norwegian Way Is Bigger Than a Starter Kit
I actually like the thinking behind the name of these new kits.
Norwex began in Norway in 1994 with a simple idea – helping people live cleaner, safer, better while reducing the use of harmful chemicals in everyday life. The,Norwegian Way Guide describes a philosophy built around ideas like “less is more,” “seeing is believing,” creating community, enduring quality, getting back to nature, giving back and making a difference.
That matters to me because the best Consultants I’ve known don’t build lasting businesses by memorizing product facts and trying to sell to everyone they meet.
- They believe in what they’re sharing.
- They use the products.
- They educate.
- They demonstrate.
- They build trust.
Over time, some of them discover that what began as a product business becomes something much bigger – confidence, leadership, community and the ability to help other people grow.
That’s the part of this opportunity I care most about.
Norwex Starter Kit Questions I Hear Most Often
Starter Kit & Opportunity FAQs
Under the U.S. August 2026 program, you can choose The Norwegian Way Join Kit for $125 plus applicable tax and $9.95 shipping and handling, or The Norwegian Way Join Kit Plus with no initial kit cost plus $9.95 shipping and handling and applicable tax. The Plus kit remains cost-free when you submit $1,500 in Personal Retail Sales in your first 45 days. Otherwise, Norwex says you will be billed $250 plus applicable tax on day 46.
It has no initial kit cost, but there is a qualification requirement. You must submit $1,500 in Personal Retail Sales in your first 45 days for the kit to remain cost-free. If you do not, Norwex states that you will be charged $250 plus applicable tax on day 46.
No. Norwex states that Consultants are eligible to earn 35% of Personal Retail Sales regardless of which join kit they choose.
Yes. Norwex says both join kit options are eligible for all Bright Start Rewards.
No. Norwex states that purchasing a join kit does not count toward Personal Retail Sales.
Yes. New Consultants may purchase the Skin Care Upgrade Package, Floor Upgrade Package, or both with either join kit. Norwex states that the upgrade packages are available only during enrollment.
No. Upgrade packages simply give you additional products to use and demonstrate. I would only add one when it fits what you want to share and your budget.
No. Some people join primarily for personal product savings. Others decide to share casually or build a business. You can start with the goal that makes sense for you.
No. You can learn the products and the business. In my experience, being willing to listen, learn, serve people and take consistent action matters much more than having a sales background.
Yes. Many people begin while working, raising children, caring for family or managing other responsibilities. Your goals and available time should shape the way you build.
Then I would look at your previous experience before deciding how to restart. What worked? What didn’t? What has changed in your life? What would you want to do differently this time? Start with my Restart Your Norwex Business page, then talk with me if you’d like help thinking it through.
My Recommendation Before You Enroll
Don’t overcomplicate this.
If you want a known upfront cost and don’t want your kit tied to a 45-day sales requirement, choose the $125 Norwegian Way Join Kit.
If you want the larger product collection, intend to start actively, and are comfortable working toward $1,500 in Personal Retail Sales during your first 45 days, consider the Norwegian Way Join Kit Plus.
If an upgrade package genuinely supports how you plan to share, consider adding it during enrollment. If it doesn’t, skip it.
If you’re still not sure, please don’t guess.
Talk with me before you enroll.
I would much rather spend a few minutes learning what you want and helping you make a good decision than have you choose a kit because a headline, price or promotion made it sound like the obvious answer.
There is no prize for picking the biggest kit.
The goal is to choose a starting point that fits you – and then build from there.
Program details, prices, products and incentives can change. This page reflects Norwex U.S. materials dated August 2026. Norwex reserves the right to change or substitute kit contents based on availability. There are no guarantees regarding income. Results vary based on individual effort, activity and other factors.
