Just because your first experience didn’t become what you hoped it would be doesn’t mean your story is over.
Over the years, I’ve spoken with many people who were consultants at one point, stepped away, and later found themselves wondering whether they should take another look at the opportunity.
Restarting often becomes clearer when you revisit the full consultant opportunity, compare the current starter kit options, and understand how my team support works.
If your previous experience lacked guidance, Mentorship With Suzanne and the Consultant FAQ will help answer what could be different this time.
- Some left because life became overwhelming.
- Some were raising young children.
- Some were caring for aging parents.
- Some had demanding careers.
- Some never received the support they expected.
- Some joined primarily for product savings and never really explored the business side.
Others simply joined during the wrong season of life.
If any of that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.
Many Successful People Didn’t Succeed The First Time
One of the biggest misconceptions people have is that a previous attempt determines future outcomes.
I don’t believe that.
Timing matters.
Support matters.
Life circumstances matter.
Clarity matters.
Experience matters.
The person you are today may be very different from the person who originally joined.
- You may have more confidence.
- You may have stronger communication skills.
- You may have different goals.
- You may finally have room in your life to focus on something that simply wasn’t possible before.
What Usually Goes Wrong The First Time?
When I talk with former consultants, I often hear similar themes.
- No clear onboarding plan
- Not enough mentorship
- Fear of asking people
- Trying to do everything alone
- Lack of consistency
- Not understanding the importance of follow-up
- Waiting until confidence appeared before taking action
- Treating the business like an occasional hobby instead of a business
Those challenges are common.
They are also fixable.
Support Makes A Difference
One reason I created this page is because many people tell me they never really felt supported.
Sometimes they joined and received very little guidance.
Sometimes they received information but not mentorship.
Sometimes they had questions but weren’t sure where to go for answers.
- I believe support should be practical.
- People need systems.
- People need encouragement.
- People need honest feedback.
- People need help understanding what activities actually move a business forward.
That’s why mentorship is such an important part of my approach.

What Could Be Different This Time?
If you’re considering returning, I encourage you to ask a different question.
Not:
“Why didn’t it work before?”
Instead ask:
“What would need to be different this time?”
Would you need better systems?
Would you need accountability?
Would you need clearer goals?
Would you need a stronger support community?
Would you need to schedule business activity consistently?
Would you need to stop waiting for perfect confidence?
Those answers often reveal exactly where growth can happen.
You Already Have An Advantage
Former consultants often underestimate how much they already know.
You understand the products.
You understand the mission.
You understand the customer experience.
You understand many of the basics.
That means you’re not truly starting over.
You’re starting from experience.
Even if that experience included disappointment, it still taught valuable lessons.
Maybe Your Goals Have Changed
Many people originally joined with one goal and return with another.
Perhaps you initially wanted product savings.
Perhaps now you want additional income.
Perhaps you’ve become interested in leadership.
Perhaps you want more flexibility.
Perhaps you’re looking for meaningful work that fits around family priorities.
Perhaps you’re interested in building something you can share with others.
Different goals create different opportunities.
What I Tell Returning Consultants
I encourage returning consultants to focus on four things:
- Get clear about your goals.
- Build simple systems.
- Take consistent action.
- Stay coachable.
Those four things solve many of the problems that prevent progress.
You can learn more about my approach on Business Systems and Consistency.
Confidence Comes From Action
Many people say they want to feel confident before they begin again.
I understand that.
But I’ve learned that confidence usually follows action rather than preceding it.
You gain confidence by asking.
You gain confidence by following up.
You gain confidence by helping customers.
You gain confidence by getting through the no’s and discovering the yes’s.
Waiting for confidence often delays growth.
What If You’re Embarrassed To Restart?
Please don’t be.
People restart businesses.
People restart careers.
People restart education.
People restart goals.
Life is full of second attempts.
What matters is not whether you stopped.
What matters is whether there is still something worth pursuing.
Why I Love Working With Returning Consultants
Returning consultants often bring maturity, perspective, and realism.
They usually understand that success isn’t built overnight.
They often ask better questions.
They understand the value of systems.
They appreciate mentorship.
And they frequently have a much clearer understanding of what they want.
Those qualities create a strong foundation.
Let’s Have An Honest Conversation
If you’re considering restarting your Norwex business, I don’t want you to feel pressured.
I simply want you to have accurate information and honest guidance.
Let’s talk about what happened before, what your goals are today, and whether returning makes sense for your current season of life.
Results vary in any business. I share from my personal experience, but no specific income, promotion, rank, or business outcome is guaranteed.
