Welcome to the Dream Team Leader of the Month series! We are going to kick off the New Year by acknowledging excellence within the Dream Team! For those of you that wonder if direct sales could be for you, or to new consultants who worry if you’re the “type” that will be successful, the wonderful people we will spotlight in this series will give you inspiration to pursue a job that has become the dream job for many. My hope is that it will also show that there really is no one perfect “type” for this business but rather many wonderful individuals who are making an amazing difference in their life, their families lives, and the lives of those around them.
Our January 2016 Dream Team Leader of the month is Jennifer Grady. Jen is an amazing woman that I have had the privilege to get to know over the last few years! She encapsulates in so many ways how Norwex can transform your life, your family, and the community around you. Jen joined Norwex August 1, 2013, and is currently a Norwex Sales Leader and Independent Sales Consultant. She lives in Rockford, IL with her husband of 20 years, Mike; and daughters, Maureen (19) and Maggie (16); along with their 3 cats and rescued pit bull. Jennifer and her husband are both high school teachers; she teaches physics and he teaches math. Wow!
Norwex products first appealed to Jen because she had started a journey to better health, which began with diet changes she made in her thirties. She had her first party in July 2013 thinking that she just wanted the mop to take care of her smudgy floors. Once she started using the Enviro Cloths she realized that these products were her next step towards better health and also something that she wanted to tell everyone about. This was just the beginning of all the ways Norwex would change her life.
Jen started her business thinking she would try it for a few months so she could take her family on a dream vacation: to visit her sister in Sweden. She became very busy with parties and soon earned enough to take the trip! After attending National Conference, she saw the benefits of working her Norwex business strategically so she could impact other areas of her life. For Jennifer, this means getting to retire from teaching earlier; her goal is 5 years! Since then, she has saved her Norwex income to take her family on a cruise for she and Mike’s 20th Wedding Anniversary (congratulations!!), upgraded their water softener, has donated to charities, and is currently saving for a trip to Rome! Go for it Jen!!
In addition to impacting her family’s finances in a big way, Jennifer cherishes the friendships that she has made through Norwex. She and her friends live far apart, but keep in touch daily, encouraging and keeping each other accountable to their goals; and a couple times a year, they get to meet up at Norwex conferences. Jennifer noticed how friends naturally drift apart because of changes in family, but Norwex has been a way to build friendships with supportive, powerful women friends that share a common goal.
Norwex is not only a personal blessing to herself and her family, but has touched her community too. After meeting the volunteer coordinator of the Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling, she took an intense 60 day training course and got involved at her local hospital. She was so excited when Norwex blessed this organization with a donation of $1000 in August of 2014. Not only was she impacting those around her with healthier cleaning supplies, but Norwex used this door opened by Jennifer to touch their community. Thank you Jennifer and Norwex!!
Looking into 2016, Jen is excited to focus on being an effective leader and growing her team. She has started monthly team MegaParties in Rockford and is looking forward to seeing the momentum build. She enjoys investing in her team so they will feel confident leading their teams. Jennifer could not have imagined that being a leader in Norwex would have been part of her life 5 years ago. She is so thankful for the journey not only to better health, but for the opportunities that her family and community have been blessed with! Keep up the good work Jen! Your journey with Norwex is an inspiration and we wish you and your business all the best in 2016!!
