FAQ: Where are Norwex products made?
Answer: Some are made right here in the USA!!
In 2018, Norwex opened their Research and Manufacturing Institute in Coppell, Texas, very close to the Norwex U.S. Home Office. This is such an exciting step for Norwex as a company because it means we are growing! We are able to control the process in house from start to finish. There is more freedom for the company to create and be assured that quality and ingredients are all to Norwex’s high standard! This green-certified campus will house manufacturing, raw materials, product storage, and most excitingly the Research Institute! Check it out in the video below:
With a growing market in 11 countries, I am so excited that Norwex is bringing more business to American soil! One of my FAQs is “Why is Norwex made in China?” In a previous series, I was privileged to share my visit to the factory in China and see fellow Norwex team members in their workplace. I have heard it said, “If you are going to create the best microfiber in the world you go to the best microfiber manufacturers,” which is China. I love that Norwex is a global company that uses each others’ strengths. It is great that America gets to be part of this process. Check out some of the new products that are being produced at the Research and Manufacturing Institute:

Please start manufacturing face mask for the communities against Covi 19. Washable face mask fro m the same material that kills juice from chicken bacteria would do the trick. Please take my request seriously. I’m starting to wear my dish clothe out as a mask.
Thank you. Doctors, Nurses, Emergency crews will thank you also.
Praying for our Nation.

Good news Beth – Norwex is donating $1 million masks to medical professionals and is making personal use face masks from our window cloth material. Those should be available soon. You can read more here: https://healthyhomecleaning.com/covid-19-personal-face-masks/

I’ve just started my journey with Norwex and with what is going on, I’m going to be looking for products made in the USA. I have read where new products are being made in the USA. Your products are great and I know people would be willing to pay a little more to support OUR COUNTRY. I really hope you produce more here to support our country especially how hard our economy has been hit by “made in China” virus. Please continue producing more HERE and not China.
Nancy says
Please listen to this request, I also will be looking for more products from USA
Suzanne Holt says
Thanks Nancy. We are making more and more products in the US all the time. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you.
Etta says
Ditto!! We want USA made Norwex products!!

Hi Etta. Norwex is a global company that was founded in Norway, so we make our products in quite a few different countries. Most of our newer products are made in the USA, in Texas. I worked with our marketing team to make a video that highlights the enormous investment we’ve made in the US; you can see it here: https://healthyhomecleaning.com/norwex-invests-in-usa/

Hi Valerie. Norwex is making more and more products in the USA all the time. With that said, I’ve been in our microfiber manufacturing plant in China twice and am SO impressed with what they do there. We own and manage our own plant and employees are treated completely different than their counterparts at other factories in China. Our employees there are so grateful for the opportunity to work for a company like Norwex that treats them very well. We pay more than other companies, provide a workplace that would be something you would find in the US rather than how most China factories are, and we have so many benefits for our employees. It’s a fantastic facility.

I agree! Yes please!!

I agree!

I am shocked that so many of the new products (bath and kitchen towels and cloths) are still being made in China. Very disappointed.
I just placed a large order with mostly 2020 products and all are made in China!
Suzanne Holt says
Tammy, Let me know if you want to chat about this. 100% of our microfiber products are made in our China facility. I don’t know of any company that makes fabric in the US, do you? All of the textile manufacturing plants that I know of are in China. We weave and make all of our cloths there. Here’s step by step how an enviro cloth is made in our facility: https://littlegreencloth.com/why-norwex-china-the-svp-trip-to-shanghai-part-five-the-big-surprise/.

Where can I find a list of the Norwex products that are made in the US?
Emily McClintic says
Well I can say my products sure weren’t made in the U.S.A They clearly state made in China so I see a bit of false advertising going on here. So believe you me I won’t be purchasing any more of your products.
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Emily. I’m sorry if you misunderstood my post. Many of our products, especially our NEW products, are being made in the USA. Our microfiber is still being made in China. I’m not aware of any textile company manufacturing in the US; the technology for that is really in China.
Maria says
Please talk to your parent company and start making the cloths and sponges in the USA. We are long overdue for an over-haul in manufacturing. I love the Norwex sink sponge and cloths, but I am looking for other brands using silver technology not made in China. If I cannot find any I like, I will likely go backwards and revert to using the regular stuff. The buck has to stop somewhere, and we, the little people, need to change our habits as no one further up is listening. I wrote my consultant, for whom I did a party in 2018, which then gave rise to a few more parties, a long email last year requesting that she mention this to management, and I did not even get the courtesy of a reply.
Suzanne Holt says
Maria,
Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry that your consultant didn’t reply to your email.
Norwex is a global company. We were started in Norway, not the USA. I’m incredibly pleased that the majority of our new products are coming from our own factory here in Dallas, Texas, but I’ve also seen the impact we are able to have on the lives of our Chinese employees. Most factory employees in China lead very challenging lives. Norwex treats our employees in China just like we would if they were in North America. I’ve eaten in their lunchroom, used their restrooms, and made an envirocloth and window cloth in our factory.
With that said – more products than you realize are made at least partially in China. They just aren’t labeled as such. It’s virtually impossible to live in the USA and not purchase products with ties to China; you just may not be aware of those times. Norwex is at least open and honest about which microfiber is made in China.
For example, here’s an article that walks through where the pieces of an iPhone are actually made: https://www.lifewire.com/where-is-the-iphone-made-1999503 The packaging says it is designed in California but in reality it’s almost certainly built in a factory in China.
If you have a computer, air conditioner or lamp – it’s likely it was produced in China: https://www.upworthy.com/when-i-saw-this-list-of-things-made-in-china-i-didnt-expect-to-be-so-shocked
Woolrich, Gillette Razors, Fischer Price toys, Nike shoes and Barbie are made in China: https://blog.cheapism.com/american-products-not-made-in-america-16404/#slide=2
Take any prescriptions? It’s likely it came at least in part, from China: https://medium.com/pharmacychecker/which-u-s-medications-are-manufactured-in-china-ed6b551ae14f
The list really goes on and on. Even “US” cars are made in China. https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/cars-made-in-china

I read NEW products- could you list some? Are they all made using components NOT sourced in China? I have not bought items from China for over 3 years- the only exception was this IPhone- I couldn’t find any made here. Thanks for your help!

I feel confident that the bath mitt that I use daily could be made in the USA if Norwex continues to look for a textile company to produce the material. It may cost more to produce but I am confident Norwex could find one. It is difficult for me to believe the employees in the Norwex factory are treated differently than those in other facilities located in China. Norwex produces great products and the company needs to go USA 100%. I have confidence that this will happen, thank you for listening.
Suzanne Holt says
Hi Denise. Thanks for your comment. Norwex is a global company that was founded in Norway. As an American, I would love to have all of our products made here, but we are a global company. As for how employees are treated in our factory, I would be happy to have a conversation with you if you like. I’ve personally been in both our current and previous factory. I have spent time with the employees. I have had them thank me for what we are doing here in the US to give them the kind of life they have working for Norwex. I’ve eaten lunch with them in their lunchroom and have used their very American-like restrooms. I’ve been on the manufacturing floor and have gone through the process myself to make both an enviro cloth and window cloth. There are big bright windows, air conditioning, and so many other things that I’m told are not in other factories in the area. When we had to do some remodeling during the pandemic, Norwex took the employees and their families on a short vacation. I could go on and on.
