The thing that I don’t like about back-to-school is the fact that you have to go back on a routine.
Waaaahhh!
I literally want to cry. Because it means:
- packing lunches the day before
- waking up early again
- getting both you AND the kids ready
- doing it all on-time
I think ‘frazzled’ is a good way to sum up school mornings!
Here are 5 time saving tips to help you get out the door faster and with less crying
Make Lunches the Night Before
I despise doing this. So. MUCH! I just want to relax in the evening!
Protip: give up a little control and just get the kids to do it. I know. I know. Giving up control of this scares you. But the truth is: They’re totally able! Train them for the first few times. And maybe make up a little guideline or checklist for them to refer to: ie. Does your lunch contain: 1 fruit, 1 vegetable, 1 dairy, etc.
They’ll be all set. And you’ll be free!
Shower the Night Before
For those of you who find this burdensome (#thestruggleisreal), and delay their shower until the morning, just use the Norwex Hair Turban on your hair! This sucks up 75% of the water from your hair, which means that you’ll spend less time drying your hair in the morning!
Lay Your Clothes Out the Night Before
Once again, some of us find this task burdensome the night before. ‘Cause we just wanna chill, right?! Plus, choosing your clothes the night before means you know there are wrinkles and you’ll likely also have to iron them that night. Ugggghhhh.
So here’s a tip for the procrastinators: Use the Norwex Wrinkle Release Spray (coming out in October!) ‘Cause we know there is NOT time for ironing!
This spray smooths out the wrinkles and creases quickly! For real!
All-Purpose Kitchen Cloth
Make kitchen clean up quick and effective when you’re rushing out the door. This cloth removes up to 99% of everything from the surface using just water, so clean up is a snap, and the kitchen won’t be so chaotic when you get home later that evening.
Set a Timer
Get everybody to complete certain tasks within a certain timeframe. For example, tell the crew: ” We’re going to get dressed now. You have x minutes. Try to be done before the timer goes off.” Kids love completing tasks to a timer! Do this for yourself too. Set a timer for everything: shower, makeup, breakfast. It eliminates dawdling, from both you and the kids!
Get Ready First
If you have really young kids or babies, the best way to get out the door fast is to wake up early, before the kids are up, and get yourself fed and ready first. You’ll get out the door feeling less frazzled, and better ‘made-up,’ because you won’t be interrupted constantly!
But what about Teenagers, who won’t get out of bed? Two words: Nerf gun!
