Now that Powerzyme has join the line up, there are 4 Norwex laundry detergents to choose from, so which one should I choose?
Norwex knows that as life changes, so do your laundry needs. Maybe having 4 laundry detergents to choose from seems overwhelming or superfluous, but as you go through life’s transitions, you might find yourself needing to switch up your detergent needs. If you’re not sure which one will work best for you in this season of life, I have a few ideas to help you decide. The best part is you really can’t go wrong because all of these detergents are made without phosphates, sulfates, chlorine, dyes, fragrances, fillers, phthalates, bleach, ammonia and optical brighteners, and more! Let’s first meet & greet each Norwex laundry detergent!
Powerzyme
Powerzyme is the first on our list and the newest to Norwex’s laundry collection. It is a highly concentrated, enzyme-based powder that uses 4 different enzymes to create a spectrum that can breakdown stains and odors while dissolving grease and grime. It doesn’t even leave smells behind! A little of this will go a long way- there are 100 HE loads in each bag! Check out this post to learn even more about Powerzyme!

Ultra Power Plus
Ultra Power Plus is one of Norwex’s most beloved products. And don’t worry-it is here to stay! Powerzyme will not be taking its place. They are very different from each other. The highly effective, concentrated laundry detergent powder contains biodegradable surfactants and is free from phosphates and fillers. In addition to dissolving grease, grime and dirt, this formula also works to get your laundry cleaner and brighter! Each bag contains 100 HE loads. Liquid Laundry Detergent
This is the OG enzyme laundry detergent, but in liquid form! It is the only liquid formula in the collection for those of you that like the convenience of a pre-measured pump system. Just squirt and press start! There is some overlap with the enzymes found in Powerzyme, but each formula is totally unique. The super-concentrated bottle holds the most loads per container- 230 high-efficiency and 115 conventional loads! If you’d like to know more about Liquid Laundry Detergent, check out this post.

Eco-Wash-Laundry Detergent Strips
The Eco-Wash Laundry Detergent Strips are super unique! They are compact, mess free, and pre-measured, which makes it ideal for travel or small spaces. The plant-based power boosters reduce tough odors while addressing the full range of organic material that could be on your clothes. This one is the most expensive of Norwex’s detergents, but can be beneficial if you are traveling or live in a tight space, like a dorm room. Cost
If you’re all about the bottom line, I’ve got the price break down for you per small HE load. They are highlighted in the graph below. The Liquid Laundry Detergent is the most cost effective at 18 cents per load. This bottle is small enough to fit in your hand, but a little goes a long way! Powerzyme and Ultra Power Plus are within 3 cents of each other so it might come down to other factors when choosing from the two. Eco-Wash Laundry Detergent Strips has the highest cost, but you might be willing to forgo the cost factor if you’re using them out of convenience. Travel and space needs might outweigh the cost.

Family Size & Debris
Ultra Power Plus is great for large families to use daily for large or multiple small/medium loads
with average stains and odors. The Liquid Laundry Detergent is best suited to small families/ single adults
with average or tough stains and odors. Powerzyme brings the cleaning power for large loads or multiple small/medium loads with heavier stains and/or odors. It is great for families with pets and small children. Eco-Wash Laundry Detergent Strips are perfect for travel and in small spaces and for young adults and busy families with average stains and odors.
Other Factors to Consider
Even though it affects less than 5% of the population, people can have allergies to enzymes. If that is you, you’ll want to skip the enzyme powered detergents- Powerzyme and Liquid Laundry Detergent- and use Ultra Power Plus or the Eco-Wash Laundry Strips instead. For some of you, it could come down to preference on which laundry detergent to use. The chart below breaks down some of the other factors to consider about each one.
