After tossing the toxins and making the switch to Norwex, you might wonder why Norwex’s biotic and enzyme products are necessary or what they even are. Let me explain.
Making the switch to Norwex’s method of cleaning has a few layers. It’s not a scam where we trick you to dump all your old products so you’ll buy ours, but it does take seeing the idea of “clean” from a whole new frame of reference. I’ll explain how biotic and enzyme products fit into the picture with Norwex’s method of cleaning.
Norwex microfiber removes 99% of bacteria when used correctly because it uses a difference kind of cleaning strategy- it’s called mechanical cleaning instead of chemical cleaning. Check out this blog post that explains the difference between the two for a more in-depth discussion. When you’ve decided that this method is as effective and let go of your chemical wipes, sprays, and paper towels, you’ll start to see cleaning in a whole new way!
Norwex also has biotic and enzyme products that provide special support to certain cleaning or cleansing situations. They don’t make the microfiber work better, but work on a different situation with or without the microfiber. You also will use these products far less than your chemical cleaners. Just a little goes a long way! They may seem like an investment, but you’ll be surprised how long each container lasts (in household use).
What are Enzymes?
Norwex’s enzyme products target specific proteins, fats, and other organic matter to remove it from the problematic area. Enzymes are proteins that act as natural catalysts to efficiently break down dirt and stains so they wash away. They much more compatible with the environment so they don’t release phosphates or other impurities. Check out the flyer below for even more information. It also lists all the products that use enzymes. Also, look for the little “Pacman” visual if you’re still not sure what this does.
What are Biotics?
The term “biotics” refers to products containing pre-, pro-, or post- biotics. Biotics refers to a living or once-living components of a community like plants, microbes, etc. To help reduce chemical load in our homes and on our bodies, Norwex formulates some products with biotics to harness the advantages of good bacteria in consumer products. They help maintain well-balanced bacterial biomes in our homes. These products also have less impact on the environment as a whole since they are biodegradable, renewable, and processing has lesser impact. Check out the flyer below for even more info about biotics and which products use them.
And they work together?
Yes! Biotics and enzymes can work together, helping each other get the job done. When applied to a surface, enzymes break down soils, stains, and odors and then the biotics consume them. If you have any other questions, check out the flyer for more information.
The chart below shows which enzymes and biotics are in each product.
I hope this information helps to clarify what Norwex’s biotic and enzyme products are, and when and why to use them. If you still have questions, feel free to ask!
