Did this Daylight Savings change catch you off guard? Or do you usually plan for it in some way? I’d love to hear how! I’ve heard so many different explanations for why Daylight Savings (DST) is done, but after reading the Washington Post’s article “5 Myths About Daylight Savings Time” I realized most of them weren’t true. One that I believed for awhile was that it conserved energy. As a Norwex consultant, I love to conserve whenever I can, but, according to the Washington Post, there are studies that show little energy saved or other cases where more energy is spent. That is quite disappointing!
Lets talk about what we really hope to conserve in when it comes to DST: sleep!! Eventually, we all adjust to the new schedule, but in the meantime, there are some Norwex solution that you can try to make those ZZZ’s much more satisfying.
Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls and Lavender Oil: Scientific studies suggest that lavender oil helps improve sleep quality. Before you go to bed, place your pillow cases in the dryer with your Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls. Put a couple drops of lavender oil on the dryer balls and dry for ten minutes. Your pillow cases will be lightly scented with lavender, hopefully, infusing you into a better night’s sleep!
Mattress Cleaner: Do you wake up stuffy in the morning? Its not a very energizing way to start the day. You might be allergic to dust mite feces. You heard me right, poop. Gross! Spray down your mattress with the Norwex Mattress Cleaner. This enzyme breaks down organic material into just carbon dioxide and water. With this spray, it won’t matter what side of the bed you wake up on, you’ll be feeling great!
Timeless Rescue Gel: Getting in the mood to sleep is hard, especially in the spring and summer when we want to make the most of the extended daylight hours. Try using the Timeless Rescue Gel a half hour before you go to bed. Make sure you turn off your electronics and relax! Let all the stress of the day melt away before you hit the pillow. Don’t be stuck counting sheep when you could be already asleep.
What else do you do to get yourself ready to sleep? I’d love to hear some of your tricks!
