Creating a SANE Haven: The Laundry Room

This is not my laundry room. Remember at the beginning of this series, I said “set your budget.” If its in your budget to do a dream laundry room makeover then go for it! Check out these other dream ideas out! But, for those in the majority, lets look at a few changes to streamline this space to help you sort through the chaos.

How do your clothes get here? Do you haul the hampers down? Do you have a laundry chute? We have one that drops down from my boys’ bathroom, so sometimes it gets crazy sifting through not only their clothes, but the toys they send “flying” too! When I started looking at these ideas, I thought there were a lot of laundry baskets used, but laundry baskets and hampers are such an affordable way to clean up the clutter. Here are some fun ideas for sorting:

What happens to them after? Folding? Ironing? Stain-treating (a step that’s supposed to be in the beginning, but I usually catch at the end)? Hang drying? There can be some fun ideas for dealing with clean clothes – check out the picture below.

Accessorize: The fun part! Make your laundry room beautiful with the clutter you already have! I love the idea of using glass jars to store your laundry detergent (Ultra Power Plus, I hope!) or your dryer balls.
