Hoping to pay down debt in 2017? What if you could make some extra money to travel more in the New Year? Looking for a job with a more flexible schedule so you can have more family time this year? So often, the Norwex journey starts with a casual commitment and desire to receive a discount on Norwex products. However, Lorrie Miller’s story proves again that Norwex may be an answer to prayer in a way you didn’t expect.
“I thought I was joining Norwex because it was a great business opportunity and a great way to make money. It was new in my area, and I knew the products were something every home should have to save money, time, and health. My main job, by choice, is being a mom and wife. I’ve homeschooled our children for ten years and enjoyed that role. On the side, I practiced law part-time from my home. When I saw the low-stress, lots-of-fun, sure-to-be-a-hit business opportunity with Norwex, I thought God brought it to me make some money working part-time so I could cut back on my stressful legal work.
I began in April of 2013 and called on my family to get me started. My mom, mother-in-law, and sister hosted parties for me in the first month. I planned to work my business part-time. Since I homeschooled my children, I aimed for one party a week during the school year. This is still my business plan. This leaves time for planning lessons and teaching kids. It is a perfect fit for our family. I’m able to do more in the summer, as our schooling is paused for summer break.
As I partied weekly those first months, I shared the business with other women. A few joined me. We learned together and became good friends. As I look back, I marvel at the close friends God brought to me through Norwex—relationships I’d not have if I’d said “no” to the business He presented. As I continued to share the business opportunity with other women needing some extra income, God blessed my part-time job by enabling my team to promote four times to the leadership level of Senior Executive Sales Leader.
God continues to bring blessings beyond my wildest dreams through Norwex. My children have certainly benefitted from a cleaned-without-toxins home, and they are part of my business as they occasionally go to parties with me and often help with behind-the-scenes work of preparing host or customer materials. I love that they are learning business principles as kids and that they see how God provides for every need in our business. And, I am amazed at how God has grown me as a mom, woman, and Jesus-follower through Norwex. The team He placed me on has many godly women of integrity, and I learn and grow from their words and examples. Some of my dearest friends are Norwex ladies on my team.
These days, I love to share this business opportunity with other women because I know that this business is so much more than an extra income. Of course, the money is helpful to many, but the “side” benefits are something everyone needs as well. This business is a support network for life. It’s a circle of friends to hold me accountable to the goals and changes my life needs. It’s women who love me enough to cry with me when I hurt and pray with me when I’m breaking.
And I thought I was just joining to make some extra money.”
Lorrie’s perspective on her business is so refreshing! Business can be stressful, but I love that she pulls it back to blessings she finds in doing this. Keep up the good work Lorrie! You are an inspiring leader!
